Laneige Cream Skin Toner Review

The Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer was a product that everyone was ranting and raving about. You couldn’t watch a “PM Routine” on Instagram stories without seeing one hidden amidst a stash of other products. As any skincare junkie would, I rushed over to Sephora to collect this Cream Skin Toner, eager to give it a go and tell all my followers how great it was. Well…let’s just say everything didn’t go as planned.

After washing my face, I picked up a cotton round and carefully added some of the toner. From there, I took it to my face and began to gently rub. Disappointment started to set in shortly after as it did NOTHING for my skin. It felt like I didn’t even do anything to my face. Is it my oily skin? The product says that it’s for normal to dry skin, so perhaps it’s because it’s not for MY skin type? No. I’ll give it another night. The next night came and so did the added disappointment. After the 3rd or 4th time, I documented my review along with two other products that I deemed to be much more successful.

Not long after I posted my review, I was urged by another influencer to give the product one more try. They had noted that this was unlike any other toner as it was a moisturizing toner, a formula I was unfamiliar with. And because this was a moisturizing toner, you couldn’t treat it like your standard run of the mill toner. I found that I was applying it incorrectly — I needed to apply it straight to the face sans cotton round. It’s when I used this tactic that I finally noticed the difference. My skin felt silky smooth, plump, and hydrated! Lack of education almost did me in.

I find myself using the Laneige Cream Skin much more often, especially now that the temperature has dropped. Regardless of the fact that the product says “normal to dry skin”, this product is for ALL skin types. I was incorrect in assuming it didn’t work due to my oily skin because oily skin STILL needs additional hydration. In fact, when your skin is super oily, that means your skin is starving for more water.

I’m shifting this product to my HIGHLY recommend list. Ya girl can admit when she’s wrong and I was VERY wrong about this. The Cream Skin is legit, y’all!

Ah I would have done the same thing 🙈 especially if the product says “toner”. They should have called it an essence lol
