Is FabFitFun Worth It?

So let’s be honest…the FabFitFun boxes are just okay. When I ordered my very first Fall box in 2019, I’d say about half the box was a win while the other half went straight to the giveaway bin. I didn’t mind this much because I figured that “all boxes can’t be a hit.” But as time went on, I realized I was experiencing the exact same thing with every box: 50% keep, 50% give away. In another other situation, I’d cancel my subscription because let’s face it, what’s the point of getting a subscription box when you don’t like half the stuff you receive? But there’s a few good reasons why I’ll never let this sub-par subscription go.

Customization

This is something new that’s starting to happen amongst many subscription boxes, but what sets FabFitFun a part is the fact that you can customize by choosing up to three items for your box, where as most subscription boxes usually tap out at two. With the ability to choose at least three products for your box, that guarantees that you’ll be happy with at least 1/3 of the box. You just gotta get on it as soon as the window opens up or else you’ll potentially be left with something you don’t want.

Add-Ons

Another “customization” of sorts, FabFitFun allows you to add on additional products to your box for a small fee. It’s usually not more than $15 per add-on (depending on what it is) and that’s a really stellar price given that many add-ons can retail for as much as $60. I usually add 2-3 products onto my box each season.

Surprise Sales!

Y’all wanna know where I got two Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Creams? FabFitFun hosts random sales (they usually tell you a few days in advance) with products up to 70% off. The Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream retails for $128, but I got them during a sale for $27 each! I’ve been able to try so many full-sized skincare products that I wouldn’t have otherwise tried because they were extremely discounted. I also saved a TON of money on household items when I moved in April because FabFitFun had them heavily discounted during one of their sales. It’s honestly one of the KEY reasons why I’ll be a subscriber for a LONG time.

Finds you didn’t know you needed

In almost every box I’ve received, I’ve gotten something I didn’t know I needed. For example, in my Fall 2019 box, I got a beautiful yoga mat. Months later and I’m absolutely in LOVE with it and I noticed my favorite travel blogger has the same one! In my Winter 2019 box, I received a gorgeous furry throw blanket that retails for $70. I would have NEVER picked something like that up for that price, but best believe it’s sitting in the living room and cuddled accordingly. In every box, FabFitFun gives you that one GOODT piece that you’ll have for a LONG time.

Despite the fact that some of the items are a HUGE miss, this is one of the most customizable boxes I’ve ever subscribed to. You really do get your money’s worth ($49.99 every 3 months) with this box. Between that and the surprise sales, this sub-par subscription is definitely worth it.
